Using Badges to Assess 21st Century Skills of Student Interns
This webinar describes a pilot project at Montana Western to use open badges in an internship course. The goal was to use badges to structure assessment and provide recognition to students for 21st-century skills they demonstrated in their internships, which are unstructured but authentic learning experiences. Students were cast as co-authors of their own badges, gathering unique evidence in order to earn one or more of five 21st century skills micro-credentials. Join Dr Denise Holland, Dr Christian Gilde, and Justin Mason as they describe this pilot project.
