HPass: Building a badging community for the humanitarian sector
HPass: Building a badging community for the humanitarian sector
The session described how HPass is building a digital badging community centred on myHPass, a dedicated passport for humanitarians. It talked about what we have learnt since our launch in 2019, and the methods we have used to generate a myHPass user base across multiple organisations, locations and contexts.
Key takeaways included:
- Lessons learned by HPass as to how digital credentials can be used to promote skills development and recognition across a global sector community, as opposed to a specific organisation
- How we approach the issue of quality across a sector badging initiative, whilst enabling the system to reflect a diversity of skills and experience in the humanitarian sector
- Examples of how we are promoting the use of badges to recognise behaviour and social action as well as knowledge
The session was led by Esther Grieder, HPass lead at the Humanitarian Leadership Academy on September 20th, 2022.
